This came well packaged and was easy to use right out of the box. I did adjust the conveyor because it wasn’t running true, but it works good now. I think this is a great machine.

Used to sand end grain cutting boards. Then use a finish sander. Does a great job .

I purchased one of these about a year ago and I just decided to install it on a flip top table instead of having it on my workbench. I have literally no idea what happened in this simple move, but the conveyor belt somehow jammed and when I tried to use it the first time, the resistance of not being able to move the conveyor fried a component on the control board. My father-in-law is an electrical engineer, so he came and tried to help me fix it... No go... He said that he literally could not believe that they manufactured this tool in that way because there is literally no protection from an overload to that component on the board... I went online and purchased a whole new control board from Jet, which took literally almost a month to arrive (insane for the cost of almost $150 for this simple board). I checked all components on my machine before installing this new board. The conveyor is free, the motor is working, everything looks good... Installed the new board and within about 30 seconds, I hear a pop (the same one that I heard the first time). Even though nothing was wrong, this board apparently had the same issue. I absolutely refuse to pay for another board, but I also can't seem to get in touch with anyone at Jet because their hours suck and I work full time. I guess I now have a $1,000 paper weight.

don't waste your money on this small machine it sands but you can over load it with just bumping this dial it pops the breaker all the time not in the fuse box but on the sander have had it a while and it will get the job done but you would be way better off buying the 1632 for a couple hundred more wish i had had that for thought anyway if your going to use it your going to use it a lot because it takes forever to do its job!

I’m glad that I’d read previous reviews of this machine in which the contact between the fan and the shroud was repeatedly mentioned. It happened to me, too. When my new sander was unpacked and finally ready for a test run, it would not turn on. The motor hummed but the drum did not move. I opened the dust cover to move the drum manually and found that it was hanging up on the fan shroud. So, like other reviewers, I removed the fan covering (three screws) and gently bent to exhaust grill outward so it would clear the fan. Instantly back in business. The Jet works great but this assembly and/or packing/shipping problem should be addressed by the seller.
