“I am judging harshly because this is no cheap tool. If the name Powermatic doesn't stand for anything what does? The banjo won't lock properly. Come on. I've had 3 cheap lathes that had no problem, but the locking lever just keeps bouncing back to unlocked. Tech support said I had to adjust the nut underneath, 1/4 turn at a time. I made 1/4 turns from barely able to move the banjo, to the lever making a complete 360 degree turn and nothing worked. I'm pissed, really. The bed extension is not machined properly, so I'm going to have to do some grinding on it just so the tail stock can move smoothly. Speaking of the tail stock, it locks just fine, but only in one direction. It won't lock at all turning the lever the other direction. The motor is really nice.”
