“This Rikon is a great addition to my shop…very strong for a bench top at 1.5 hp, and very adaptable. Add an extension for lengths, same extension for the front for turning bowl backs, and the same extension for outboard turning up to 18”!! And Rikon Customer Service is outstanding.”

“I bought the rikon 70–14 20 VSR Lathe and a 13-1/2” extension. I wanted to buy a 24” extension sku:70-901. But the sales person said it won’t fit my lathe. It’s only for the 70-220 vsr. But on the rikon website, it says it fits both of them. 70-901: Bed Extension 24″ for 70-1420VSR / 70-220VSR.”

“I love this lathe. I turn hundreds of fishing lures on it with a duplicator. Lots of power and the variable speed is great. Fast for turning slow for sanding. I am buying second one”

“I really like it. It's a small lathe with big lathe features. Variable speed, forward and reverse, a 1 1/4" spindle and 3 different places to add an extension. I bought this, the stand and 2 extensions, I'm very happy. I did have to grind a little out of the extension mounted on the rear so my tailstock would slide through also a little off the door to access the belt. I have been turning for 25+ years and I mainly turn boxes, I highly recommend it to anyone. If you add an extension to the headstock end you can turn a bowl up to 18".”

“I have been very happy with my purchase of the 14 X 20 VSR lathe, which i did buy from Woodcraft. I upgraded from a lathe that had a 10 inch swing with no speed control other than changing the belts. The features I like is the 14” swing one the main frame. I have not used the out board feature yet but plant to in the future. I have not had any loss in speed when I have been turning 10 inch bowls. I did also purchase the stand for the lathe.”
