In hindsight I would get a thicker kit. Some of the boards weren't cut exactly to 3/4" and were a little wonky. After glue up and planed and sanded.. Final board is 5/8" thick. I'm worried about it warping. It also possibly cupped a hair the short way. But miraculously all 4 corners are the same. So no rocking. But I did notice after a long mineral oil soak the rag was coming up slightly darknas other people stated. Not sure if that's the wenge? But all things considered it came out gorgeous.

Purchased three board kits as gifts for family members. They went together perfectly with no issues. I was concerned prior to purchase after reading the product reviews, but it appears woodcraft addressed the issues. Well done Woodcraft!

Product was easy to work with even as a beginner. I had to use a planer to flatten the boards. They were supposed to be sized. No big deal but an added step.

Great wood selection, the pieces were cut (ripped) fine and packaged very well. The only issue with both of the kits is this time, is there is more tear out on the ends so I had to cut more off the ends to get a clean edge.

Glued up fine and looks very nice. But while applying oil the dark wood's color bled into the maple and the rags always came away stained with the dark color. After many oiling, washing the board leaves the cleaning cloth with a dark color and isn't going away. Probably not going to use anymore as I don't want that color in my food.

The maple strips were so poorly cut I had to replace them all. One of the exotic wood strips was also tapered and I had to rip the board apart. Unfortunately the glue had already started to bond before I caught this. Overall the board is not one I would recommend.

Good cutting board kit - all pieces glue up well. After planing and sanding to 320 grit plus a few ‘coats’ of Walnut oil and wax, the different woods contrast nicely.

I usually build everything myself, but walking thru the store, I bought this as a quickie. HA! First one I bought I discovered when I got home was so poorly cut that literally no amount of clamp pressure could close it up. Brought it back and the replacement *looked* ok, until I opened it and looked at the cut pieces inside it...OMG! TERRIBLE! The maple pieces had huge ripples in the supposedly glue-ready surfaces. The wenge looked even worse, with big gaps in the sides of every piece!!! Only the angelique was reasonably straight, and even it looked like it had been sawn with a crappy, dull blade! WOW, what a waste of money! I cut my own maple and substituted some walnut for the wenge. SHAME ON YOU WOODCRAFT!!!!!!
