“Maybe three stars is a little unfair as it's my fault that I expected a wood somewhat like ebony. Once I'd scraped the wax off and sawed into it I found the interior to be a blotchy mix of purplish-brown and pale yellow. At first, I thought it was an attempt to dye a different wood, but then I found a description that lines up with this. It's just not attractive. The blanks were labelled Gombeira. At The Wood Database, it is given the name Wamara. Look it up before you buy.”
