“I ordered a piece for a project I had been looking forward to working on. I had previously bought a mixed set of thin stock that had a piece of Wenge and really liked the striking grain pattern. I thought this would work great on my project. I considered buying more thin stock or even looking for veneer but having found this I thought using a solid piece would be the superior choice. The piece I received is a an extreme disappointment. Whomever processed the piece I received completely screwed up. It appears that the wood was quartersawn. The normally striking pattern is only visible on the edge grain sides. The face sides are full of "pits" that will need to be filled to make the surface reasonable for use. This completely ruins the point of buying a nice piece of exotic wood. I will still use the piece but will have to determine how I will draw out the limited grain pattern that is visible.”
