“Terrible customer service from Laguna. 30 hours of use in custom furniture shop and now its been 4 months under warranty with no fixes and a run around with no parts delivered for a broken sprocket. Woodcraft has not published my previous reviews and should be aware that I purchased this through them with no help on their end to resolve any issues. I cannot and will not purchase another laguna product.”

“I had this planer for one month and a sprocket broke on the planer while doing routine tasks on hard maple. I do metal fabrication in addition to professional woodworking and it was clear that the sprocket had an improper heat treat. After 2 months of dealing with the notoriously bad Laguna customer service, my shop is down because my brand new planer is in pieces waiting for a part. Mind you it is a part that is in the planer in 3-4 places so its not like its a rare entity for this machine. Save your money and go with Powermatic or another vendor through woodcraft.”

“I recently upgraded to the Laguna from a Powermatic and previous Jet. The 5HP motor is fantastic with 12/4 hardwoods, making quick work of the planing. The DRO from Wixey is very easy to calibrate and gives piece of mind in reaching a desired thickness. The unit is compact around 30"x20" and Ive added a mobile base to move it around. Easy to set up and unload with one person. I have not experienced any snipe right out of the box and the Sheartec cutters are great especially with increased number compared to some of the other brands. I'd also say the unit is very quiet when compared to the aforementioned. I did not find many reviews on the machine but I wanted to share my experience as this has been a fantastic purchase. I'd highly recommend if considering a 15" or so planer.”
