Not bad. Lead seems to break easily. There are a couple of pieces that are screwed together to make the body and they keep wanting to loosen periodically.

I love a good mechanical pencil. The Graph-X5 mechanical pencil is my new favorite! It feels great in my hand and I appreciate that the nib is also retractable instead of just the lead.

I bought 2 of these as a complement to a Graph Gear 1000 that I use. They feel great in my hand, have very nice action and seem to be hearty. I drop stuff a lot and they’ve held up so far.

I have this pencil and the Graph Gear 500. Unlike the other review on here, it’s actually the opposite in my experience. This pencil does have a retractable tip and the Graph Gear doesn’t. Not only that, but this pencil has a great weight to it which feels great in the hand. Whereas the GraphGear is mostly plastic and feels cheap compared to the Tomato Graph-X5. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of both pencils, but the Tomato is my go to in the wood shop.

Its an ok pencil, but far inferior to the pentel graph gear. It cost me more to get the tomato and the first day I had it, I dropped the pencil on the work bench and it bent the tip. The tomato tip doesn't retract making the tip a weak point when putting it in a pocket or in this case dropping it. I looked around, called around and couldn't find replacement tips for it either which is very disappointing as that means I just wasted $13.
