I agree with the one star reviews that the adjusting knobs prevent you from mounting thicker stock on the jig. However, my solution to that was to replace the knobs with standard 1/4-20 nuts. I then had no issues tapering my 1 3/4" square oak legs. In my case, the quick lock toggle clamps worked fine to hold those legs. I cut eight legs and all turned out great. I also agree that supplied base plate is wider than the distance from the miter slot to the blade. That is on purpose. Once you mount the rail to the base you then run that through the saw to set the base width to your saw. Thus you have a zero clearance base. With that set it is easy to mount your stock in the jig and see exactly where the taper cut will be on your piece. Finally, I agree the instructions were not great and assembly took a little figuring out. That cost a star.

Disappointed with this jig. I was not able to use it and will be returning to the store. I assembled it and put on my table saw and it does not fit, and does not nicely accept wood thickness over an inch or so, or it hits the tightening knobs. I wish I read these reviews before purchasing in store, Paul and Daniel S's reviews are accurate. The only directions supplied are simple photos for assembly, but nothing about setting it up or using it. The 2 quick lock toggle clamps supplied are a great design idea but 1 of them fails to stay in place when tightened, even just slightly tight, so wouldn't be safe to use to hold a board to cut. As the other reviewer mentioned, the miter slot layout does not work. On the right side of the blade, the jig far interferes with the blade. It would potentially work on the left side miter slot but I would have to rebuild the jig pieces by turning them all around and then some of the features would have to be modified, so figured not worth spending the money on this and will be custom making my own.

This jig is poorly designed as the adjusting knobs get in the way of where the workpiece should go. As a result it can only be used with very small pieces of wood. A 1 1/2 inch this piece doesn’t fit. I wound up returning this.

I purchased this to make simple angle cuts in stock for some projects. The instructions were very abbreviated, although they did provide adequate information to assemble the jig there was nothing on how to configure or use it. The box states that the jig goes in the right miter slot that is 5 to 5 7/8 " from the blade. On my saw the distance is 5". However, the base plate of the jig is about 2 inches too wide. With no instructions I am not sure if it should be cut to width perhaps? Also, it doesn't appear to accept stock greater than 3/4 inches or the clamp tightening knobs get in the way. I am not an woodworking expert by any means, but I've been involved in woodworking as a hobby for years and usually I can figure out how jigs and other tools work.
