They weren’t actually flat, a major flaw in a sharpening stone. Only useful for freehand work on small items.

I really like these sharpening stones they seem to be holding up very well. I did have an issue with one of my stones when it first arrived and woodcraft replaced it no questions asked so if you do have any issues, you can trust that they will replace it right away. Five out of five stars !!!!!

These are great. I love having all three together. I used them for kitchen knives the day they came, they produce an awesome edge.

I bought this on sale at 50% off. For $39.98 it was a decent deal. The stones cut ok but are slower cutting than my 40 year old blue (coarse) dmt bench stone. I doubt they’ll have the longevity of that dmt stone. They are ok for for the primary and secondary bevels but aren’t suitable for flattening the back of the blades. They’re not flat to start with and are too flexible. For that I reverted to my dmt bench stone and traditional wet stones. If I had to pay full price I’d probably buy the dmt 3 stone set, which matches closely in grit sizes, for $30 more. The dmt stones are flat and should last a lot longer if my 40 year old blue stone (equivalent to the 400 grit stone in this set) is an example.
