Overall it is a well-built saw, and I would buy it again. I have 14" laguna so this is used only for a quick cut or curves. I mounted it on a rolling stand not the open stand it comes with Cons ( Are Few ) The tension lever for the blade is just a chrome rod and feels cheap and needs a handle. So, I got a file handle from AMAZON and epoxied the handle on, it was very easy because it unscrews from the saw. The adjustment for the lower guides is very hard to see for adjustment

I purchased the saw within the last month so my experience with it is limited. I thought about holding out for the newer model, but the sale price was right and the saw is an add-on to my Laguna 18" beast. I purchased it to have a saw that I could keep a narrow blade on all the time, as getting a thin blade mounted and tracking right on the Laguna is a chore. The Rikon seems like a solid tool. Assembly was straightforward, and I managed unpacking and putting everything together without additional help. The blade guides are novel compared to other units I have used. The side guides are spring-loaded and retract away from the blade when unlocked. Guide adjustments do not require any tools. It is a little difficult to see into the assembly to judge if the guides are set right, though - this will take some learning, as will determining if blade tension is set correctly. Overall, i would purchase the saw again.
