“I figured I'd give Woodcraft's Phenolic Ply a shot. The smooth side phenolic surface layer was thin.... like extremely thin. I've never seen a sheet that you could see wood grain through. For condition, make sure to order larger than needed. The edges on the cut and ply are shot due to chipping and edge delamination (perhaps caused by a hot blade since the edges appear burnt. And be prepared for dents and a lot of scratches. I buy plywood online quite often as there's nothing near me that has any sort of quality, and having high quality shipped to you isn't always a good idea due to mishandling by shipping services. But in this instance, Woodcraft was a bit backordered, and I'm sure they were forcing it through to meet holiday demand. And since I got a good price for it, I'm not all that concerned about it. After all, I'm just using it for resurfacing the router table and bandsaw wings of my table saw. So it'll get scratched up eventually lol. But if I were making a desk or artistic work, I'd go elsewhere. Woodcraft is great at many things. Their service is top notch. But as far as phenolic plywood, I'm not impressed. But I was in a rush to get by the new year before work picks up.”
