“Just bought this box of basswood. Went through each stick No dents nor knots Fairly straight grain, but highly suggest each stick before carving to determine how the grain runs. The 1x1 i use for small carvings like on YouTube sites. There are hundreds of lessons or how to. The 2x2 is use for the larger carvings. The box comes with a beaver mascot you can paste on the wood. Plus a qr code that takes you to Beavercraft. There they offer over a hundred templets. These boxes are low cost with plenty of carving material. Try a box - easy buy easy carve.
