I had researched for months to decide which bandsaw I should get for my home shop. The Jet SFX did not disappoint. I was able to get it while on sale for 10% off, and on the advice of the staff at Woodcraft, I used the savings to purchase a mobile base. This proved to be a very smart decision as I have not decided where in my shop this Goose will roost. I followed Alex Snodgrass' video on proper alignment and decided to test a 5" thick piece of maple stock and the Jet sliced it straight and true. Very pleased with the results. Next on my list will be a dust collection system and a nicer fence if I can find one that is compatible. Also, special thanks to the fellas at Tulsa Woodcraft for all the help and advice. They had smart answers for my dumb questions and didn't miss a beat. Thanks guys.

Been wanting a bandsaw for couple of years now and decided to go with the JWBS14-SFX based on price, features, free shipping and reviews. I was concerned about having it shipped due to some reviewers who had bad experiences with their shipping company and the weight of the shipped item. However in my case everything went perfectly and it was delivered into my garage to within 10ft of its final resting spot. It is heavy and was not sure if I would need help or use of hoist to setup and position, but it turned out to be not too challenging to stand it up and rock/walk it over the final few feet alone. That being said I am a big guy, if you are on the slender side you probably should get some help with this part. Follow the setup instructions as presented in the video on Jet website, the printed instructions are overly complex, suggesting hoisting etc. Setting everything up and adjusting took about 2 hours in total. Breaking down and disposing of the packing materials however took longer, the amount of rigid styrofoam packing was ridiculous! Jet should consider alternative packing methods. Upon full inspection I did find some issues with the finish quality (chipped or cracked paint) however these were minor and not in highly visible areas, so I didn’t get in a twist as I will probably do far more damage to the finish in using it anyway. Most everything on the saw is solid and high quality. It was easy to get everything level, square and things stay were you set them from cut to cut and session to session. It is making great quality cuts. One of the key reasons to purchase this was to enable me to resaw the copious amounts of hardwood timber available on my property and in this respect it is solid performer, even running on 110v. I don’t have dust collection yet, so can’t comment on that. I have been using for about a month now and so far I am very happy with it.

After finally getting it setup in my shop & tuning it, plug it in for nothing to happen. Doesnt light up or turn on. I didnt buy this to work on but looks like im going to have to. Worse case i make woodcraft replace it & they can deal with jet!

I purchased this saw from the Oakwood Village, Ohio location. Everyone in there is great by the way. I bought a floor model, so I just had to do small adjustments and this thing runs great. I tested it on some maple that was 4x4. With the stock blade it did fine. As with any bandsaw new you should get a good blade or two seperate. Plenty of power running 110v , fairly quiet. I got this to eliminate a table saw by 95% for my work. Went in for a Rikon, and left with a Jet.

I'm about a month in on the new bandsaw (Jet JWBS14-SFX). I'm happy with it overall. The good: very powerful saw, very sturdy overall build. Love the belt tension and alignment windows and saw adjustments. Table is super heavy duty and sturdy. Included blade works great to start with (5/8"). You'll want to get some other ones soon of course. The bad - I can't believe the fence mechanism they put on this thing. The fence itself is tall and sturdy aluminum (excellent). However, the sliding part that attaches to the table is an absolute piece of garbage. The four screws that you use to square the sliding fence to the table are too short and don't grab threads properly. The fence was out of vertical alignment, so I went to adjust and found that someone who put it together in the factory used a washer as a shim on one corner - sloppy!!!! I fixed the short screws problem by making the holes a little deeper for the screw heads to get a bigger bite on the threads. Seriously, the saw is super nice, I cannot believe they put this Harb0r Fre1ght quality fence system on it. Again, good fence, bad attachment system to the table top. That's all I have to say bad about it. The packaging was solid and it came in two boxes (base and saw). It's palletized. Have your friends ready, it's heavy. Don't forget to order a base for it, otherwise it will sit in the exact spot you assembled it for a few weeks like mine did. And plan to convert it to 220V as soon as you can, it just runs better - though I did not have trouble with it on 110V. On 220, it starts faster and sounds better. You will lose the benefit of the extra 110V outlet after you convert but oh well. Good saw, I've loved it so far. BTW, I compared this saw to some Laguna saws around $1000, and the Grizzly offerings and found that I just got more with this one. I used a black friday sale and got $100 off if I remember right, which helps. Free shipping is huge, as this weighs like 350lbs when shipped. Grizzly charges about $100 for shipping, so add that to your calculations with whatever you go with.

I get to make the first review! I was very excited to get my saw. I was fortunate enough to get one before they were backordered. However I cannot even attach the saw to the base because it is missing the four screws that are required to do so. On top of that, there is rust and chipped paint along the bottom of the saw that sits on the base. I have been a big fan of jet but this puts a bad taste in my mouth. $1000 for a saw and it’s worthless sitting in a box until I get screws that should have been in the package. Not what I expect from jet at all!
