“I have owned this planer for over 10 years. The blades come double sided so you flip them over and continue. There are also heat treated blades made from m-2 steel for a premium. But not near as costly as the helical cutter head. I have surfaced probably 2000 bd ft for diminsional and finished work. The dewalt meets my needs as a home owner and cabinet builder. I even installed it on a gravity stand for portability and to reduce potential lifting injuries because of its bulkiness and weight.”

“I had a Ryobi 13" planer before getting this one. I've only used it for an hour or two, but really like it so far. The stand that came with it is very cheap and it's a good thing it was basically free, because it's not up to the DeWalt quality standard that I expected.”

“Purchased a deal from woodcraft for dewalt planer with table in store $720 told me 2/5 that is back ordered and will be in within next couple days. It is now 3/14 nobody at this company can tell me when I can expect my order, customer service is the worst the lady told me if was that big of deal just come back and get my money so that's exactly what I did then went and purchased and picked up same day my Dewalt planer and table at home depot as did my friend. I will never conduct business with such a company who lacks customer service skills, too bad because I come with alot of business, hv a blessed day.”

“Like the title says, the blades are the weak link on this awesome little planer. A helical cutter is in the near future. The steel used on the blades is just too soft.”
