“Friendly staff had it ready to go in short order. I bought a 3ft length of teak dowel, cut it into 12 x 3 inch lengths and carved them into toggles for use with tarp and rope while camping - worked out perfectly.”

“Bought 5 36" Maple dowels for a project. They arrived quickly. They were smooth and straight with nice grain. Four were perfect, the fifth one had a flat spot that ran about 3 inches up from the end. I needed 35" so the flat spot made for a poor appearance on that last dowel. One other complaint is that the pricing stickers are a pain to remove and leave glue residue behind. Next time I will order the next size up to ensure I have some leeway for defects and labels.”

“about half the dowels have a bend in them so that in order to get 6 straight lengths out of the 3-foot dowels I bought, I needed to use three dowels and had no scraps over 10-inches leftover. Also the diameter (3/8-inch) was a bit oversized and I had to sand them to fit in the 3/8” holes I drilled.”

“I picked up this 1/2" oak dowel at the Springfield brick&mortar store and I'm happy to announce that it was indeed 100% oak, genuine wood and indeed it had a 1/2 inch diameter. Store was nice and clean and the attendants were eager to help in any way they could. Also courteous and friendly.”
