Purchased the sander December, 2024. I will use it to do initial sanding of my wood projects. This item looks like it is a "private label" product from WEN Tools. Now, I have purchased and used a number of WEN products and I like them. Very well made, run hard and good price points. So I was very disappointed when this sander arrived. After unpacking it I set it up on my bench, installed a belt and turned it on. So far, so good. When I tried to sand a wood work piece the sander started to make very loud noises and the belt platform moved side to side. After a little investigation I discovered the drive belt was loose and the sanding platform mounting screws were loose. I had to take the drive belt cover off to find the sanding belt platform mounting screws. I adjusted the drive belt to a theraretical safe tension and tightened the mounting screws. There are basic instructions in the manual (but poor drawings) for replacing the drive belt. After adjusting a couple times the platform seems to be secure, the loud noise is gone (the sander is loud anyway) and it worked as expected. This situation has occurred because of poor QC. So what else might happen over time? This likely explanes why they were priced with a $100. discount. Just saying.

Purchased to replace a competitor's product that vibrated very unacceptably. Pleased that this sander runs smoothly and meets my sanding needs. Much more enjoyable to use.

I purchased this to replace one from a competitor that had a very unacceptable vibration problem. Pleased that this product runs smoothly and provides me with the sanding options I need.

I got this on a Black Friday sale. Excellent value. I wish the surface stop was further left for better sanding

It appears to be well made especially for the sale price I bought it. The instructions however are probably the worst I've ever encountered with a power tool. Poorly drawn sketches by middle school art student. Hopefully the quality of the sander better than the instruction manual.

I bought this sander 12/15/18 i got it home and put it together. The table is nect to impossiable to get squared to the disk. Just like the HF belt/disk sander I'm replacing.

Just bought this sander. Took it out of the box and started reading the manual. The owners manual is the worst manual I have ever seen for a power tool. The graphics are awful, the instructions very poor, errors when referencing item numbers and ther are features that they don’t even talk about. You have to guess as to what they are. Hope the operation of the sander is better than the manual.

Just bought one on sale at the Harrisburg store. Had been looking for one for a couple weeks. Read a couple bad reviews and was a little concerned. However, staff was very helpful and showed me one in their classroom. Brought it home and set it up. Very little setup required. Had to adjust table so it didn't bind on the disc, but that was easy - just adjusted the three bolts on the bottom. Did some test sanding with hardwoods and it worked fine - no bog down. I highly recommend this machine if you're looking for a "portable" machine. Even with its portability, there was no vibration or movement on my bench even though it was not bolted down.
