I am very pleased with the results. However it is absolutely necessary to cure under pressure at 45 to 50 psig in a pressure pot for at least 4 hours. Also, if wood is used in the pour it must be dry. Put the wood in an oven for 1 hour+ at 212+ b/4 inserting in your mold just prior to pouring. The Aluminite customer service has been very helpful.

This is the the worst epoxy I have ever used. First time I just poured the epoxy into a sign, popped the initial bubbles and let it sit overnight. Turned into a foam like material - full of bubble holes. Then, second try, I did everything I could to seal the wood by painting on a thin copy of epoxy to seal the wood before pouring the epoxy, and it still turns into a foam like texture. I popped all of the bubbles with a torch until the epoxy started to cure too much but after leaving it overnight it is full of bubbles. I have recut the profiles with the CNC twice, now it will be #3 and try a different brand of epoxy.

I tried pouring some of this into a blank I was going to turn and after letting it sit over night I came back and it was bubbled up and opaque white. I tried it again in a more temperature controlled room (to make sure that wasnt the main factor) and it did it again. I emailed their tech support and they told me the kiln dried wood was too moist and the exposure to water is what caused it. I tried to explain I also did a test in a plastic measuring cup and it did the same thing they told me it was a moisture issue. Then they never responded again. I wish I knew if it was a bad batch or if there was another issue that I could fix but the complete lack of customer service on the part of the manufacturer will keep that an unknown. I really had high hopes for this product.
