I have had this unit since Black Friday and it has only been running for maybe 10 hours of use. It started right from the start, it would only go one speed 649RPM, VS would not adjust at all. I made aleast 5 phone calls to Laguna Tech Service with no call back, The operator put in a case # and it took over a week for them to get ahold of me through email. No call back at all, then they shipped me some parts with no explanation on what to do, so fix it on my own. I am handy so I started to replace out parts and noticed that the speed control was broken off from the control. So I made more phone calls, with no response and it was around Christmas, was told they were on vacation and holidays so I had to wait til after the holiday were over. Then I get another email on a part being shipped and nothing more. I changed out the part and it ran for about 3 hours, then mother board went out, that was one of the parts they sent me the first time around that I had not replaced, so I installed it and it worked. I ran the machine for another 6 hours and then it got stuck in reverse only. I pulled the control of and moved wires around and could hear clicking, so if I had the wire at the right area it would go in forward. I called Technical Service again 3 times one day and got put to CNC sales which transfered me to the Technical Service manager over Lathes and left a voicemail also left a voicemail with the operator. Did not hear anything so I called mid day the next day twice, could not get through to Tech Service, but again got the Sales department for CNC’s and the person put in another Case #. I never heard anything back, they are not open on weekends. I would show pictures of the things I have found wrong inside, but the review area does not have a place to do it. I sent another email to them with pictures yesterday of wires that were partially stripped when put in insert. I will say when I had it running it was awesome and turned out some nice things, but I would have expected more from Laguna when there is an issue. I am sure that I probably got a lemon and the quality is better on most units, but the Technical Service is the worest I have ever dealt with. With my experience with this machine I will probably never buy another one of there products again. I do own there band saw and the big belt sander and was looking at a drill press and adventually upgrading my CNC to a Laguna.
