Just starting out using my Glowforge Laser and looking for less expensive wood products instead of always using proofgrade materials. Using Woodpecker Crafts Baltic Birch plywood, I was able to make several Door Hangers for an upcoming craft show. The wood cut like butter and left little to no surface staining, which was easily covered with spray paint. I will certainly be buying more plywood sheets from this vendor.

Majority of the boards I received were warped.. I understand this happens with wood at times but it’s just frustrating when majority of them all are the same. It then causes issues when trying to use the pieces for laser cutting and I end up wasting a lot of the material when it’s not cheap.

I liked working with this on this build. Easy to cut, shape and sand. Flexible in that I can stain and paint in details. This will make retirement more enjoyable.

I've been using 1/8 inch birch from a local supplier that's $24 for a 5x5 foot panel for laser cutting. It cuts well overall but there are many spots per panel that the laser just won't cut through, and the area emits a flash and black soot while the beam passes over. I ordered this pack of wood to test in comparison to that supply. I was disappointed to see that it has the exact same issue.

I use the 12x20 3mm Baltic Birch sheets for laser cutting - I've ordered a few thousand from Woodpeckers now, and they're generally good quality. There are some pieces that have significant patches, scratches, glue spots in the core, or aesthetic damage, but they're generally infrequent. The thickness is relatively reliable (+/- .1mm) - my use case includes a lot of items that slot together, so having a wide variance would be a real problem. Shipping is quick, and pricing with rewards is solid. I don't like that the reward certificates are limited to one per order - I cashed in all my points at once and got a few different sized reward certificates, but could only apply one to the order I was placing at the time.
