A cabinet scraper set covers a surprising range of finishing work that sandpaper alone struggles to match - removing old finishes, levelling joints, smoothing tearout and preparing surfaces for a finish, all without raising dust or clogging grit.
This Workshop Heaven ARNO cabinet scraper set gives you four thicknesses, each suited to a different stage of the work:
1.0mm rectangular scraper: stiff enough for heavy removal: old finishes, machine marks, glue and general stock levelling, roughly equivalent to working with 80 grit
0.6mm rectangular scraper: flexible enough for general surface preparation, taking flat or convex surfaces through to a finish-ready state faster than working through successive grits (180 to 400 grit sanding jobs)
0.4mm rectangular scraper: fine and flexible, ideal for final finishing boards and chasing small patches of tearout in an otherwise clean planed surface
0.6mm gooseneck scraper: shaped like a French curve to follow mouldings and concave profiles, and useful for careful repair work on finished surfaces without marring the surrounding area
Supplied in a suede wallet that keeps all four scrapers protected and close to hand on the bench.
