Read Workshop Heaven Reviews

Introducing a twist on the classic English marking gauge.
This beautiful pencil gauge, crafted by Joseph Marples of Sheffield from hard wearing beech with solid brass locking screws and double curve attachment, is a versatile workshop tool for laying pencil lines parallel to convex/concave curved edges as well as a straight ones.
Place the pencil in position, secure in place with the brass screw, then present the two points of the brass curve against the edge of your work and mark away; setting out the saddle and trough of a chair seat for example.
The two lines of contact will follow a straight edge too, or you can turn the stem around so the pencil is against the flat face and use as a standard pencil gauge.

Nice tool but I'll need to get used to it. I've only used pin and wheel-type marking tools and I'm having a bit of a hard time effectively using the fench and leveling correctly to get a consistent line. Though that's on me, I gave it 4 stars because the pencil orifice takes a bit of a touch up; it won't fit pencils other that the one if comes with.
