Want to make your own Moxon vice?Longer, wider, deeper? In solid cocobolo with boxwood stringing, or maybe just saving a few bob and using up some odd bits of pallet wood? Here are the metal bits you'll need, two appropriately threaded screws complete with fixed backing plates, solid brass washers and heavy cast iron 5" handwheels that spin nicely so you don't have to wind them.Made in Czech Republic.

I bought these vise screws to add aclamping function to a dovetail marking out and cutting stand. I adapted the stand quite easily by adding a support block for the screws and a clamp jaw. I made the support block about 120 mm thick so the screws didn't stick out so far. A 20mm Star-M F-Type Bit, SKU 394336, in a drill press produced perfect holes for the screws. My only complaint is the sharp edges left on the free end screw threads. These were easily removed with a file but that shouldn't have been necessary.
