I ordered a set of brake sensors at the same time as the kit and six weeks later I am still waiting for delivery of these despite reasurances that they will be delivered soon. I am having problems with the display and power selector and have had no response to my e-mail about this.

I already own an electric bike for over 10 years that has the motor in the front wheel. Deciding that it was due for replacement I saw and bought a Panda mdrive unit. This has been fitted to my own mountain bike. A little tricky to fit but after finding it was a screw sticking through into the bottom bracket area I am now the proud owner of ebike 2. Now the pluses : The control of the motor via a digital dashboard is very much better and gives many different settings for applying just the right amount of oomph that you want. e.g. off road on hilly terrain more power required than on roads where the bike runs better. Gear changes are good as the torque reduces then increases automatically. Most of all I like the fact that the bike is better balanced because the motor weight is low down. Recommendation would be to buy one and see for yourself. Cons: Not sure how long it will last - only time will tell. Noted also that If I stop with the rear sensor exactly opposite the rear magnet then my unit gives an error 3 code. Not sure if this should happen? It does go away once cycling again.

Had a problem removing the bottom bracket of my trike (a back injury means I can no longer ride my bike) as it was not standard. Found the right spanner on the net for around £8 but Halfords removed it for me for a tenner. Fitting the drive was straightforward apart from the battery and the motor having different type terminals. Panda offered to replace either but easily sorted from my bits box. Am now mobile again and able to visit nearest town 6 miles away without undue effort.

After reading previous reviews on the M Drives I rang Panda and had a few questions answered which saved me spending more than I should. The drive with battery arrived as promised. It was more difficult to fit on my recumbent trike due to the cable lengths. But was soon up and running. The drive works very well. Towing a 40kg trailer is like it's no longer there. Hills that I took at 4mph, I now manage to get 10mph plus. Over a regular 15 mile round trip I use less than half the 14.5ah battery capacity, and that's on full assist.
