“My wife's favorite old Sharper Image round make-up mirror had a CFL bulb along with a separate compact ballast inside the mirror casing to produce light for the outer ring. The ballast died & is no longer made. I found this "hybrid" LED bulb on ProLighting's website. The unique two-prong base matched the existing socket, it fit into the limited space behind the mirror perfectly, and it didn't require a ballast! This is by far the simplest, least expensive and most effective way to replace a CFL bulb and ballast in older fixtures!”
