Hi Mr Brown Many thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback. The Chevalier Hamilton GTX Jacket is described as a shell that provides wateproof and windproof protection and can be worn with or wouthout layers depending on the time of year. To find a jacket that will provide extra warmth in the winter conditions, the description would state that there is a secondary layer, or added insulation.
