This does what it promises. It is a small, easy-to-use, (presumably) accurate BAC meter. I had trouble choosing which model to get, since there were several that seemed similar. I wish there had been more info about the differences, if any. There are two things about this model that I wish I had been aware of. One is that it makes a lot of loud beeps while doing its job! I'd like to be able to use the meter discreetly at times, but that's tough to do with this noisy little guy. Second, I was disappointed to learn that I am supposed to wait 20 minutes AFTER drinking or eating to use it. That's inconvenient and something I wish I had known. I wonder if either of those points distinguish this model from the others.

The reason I bought this unit because it has 3 digits display. Most of the time it pretty accurate. I used it about 10 times. However, one time I didn't drink or eat anything but it gave a reading of .0012

We used it on someone who drank too much. It took 10 tries before they could blow long enough for it to register. That was the only problem we had, 5 seconds of blowing was hard for an inebriated person.

If your looking its because you drink and potentially drive, or someone you care about does. PURCHASE it! I started with the keychain and have since bought two Elements. The fuel cell accuracy (closer to law enforcement model) and 3 digit display are a must. My wife and I and friends use them all the time. No one drives without blowing! Its surprising how many friends we have stopped from driving when they said "I feel alright to drive" and then blow over .10. Telling people not to drive doesn't work but once seeing the numbers always stops them. As a rule we will not drive over .04 and we make sure the number is decreasing. You quickly learn how much you can have and how much time, water and food it takes to drop the numbers, or just call a cab. I unfortunately know the cost, aggravation and embarrassment of an OWI. Over 1.5 years of time to complete the process with court, lawyers, counseling and 12 months of interlock. You will happily blow into your BACtrack after spending a year with an interlock to start your car. After the OWI ordeal I decided I wouldn't drink and drive ever.... that was very difficult with my social and professional group. So I purchased the BACtrack which has helped me be very responsible and continue to have a few cocktails with friends and business associates. Now several friends are also using a BACtrack and living a much more responsible lifestyle. PURCHASE the ELEMENT.

I own a business and have employees that have a drinking problem, often times they show up to work looking like they are drunk, their job requires them to use equipment that could cause injury to them or others around them if anything goes wrong. I bought the BACtrack along with extra mouth pieces and had everyone in the company use the BACtrack. I then told them I would be doing random Breathalyzer tests in the future. I've unfortunately had to send not only one but two employees home due to intoxication, however they got the 'message' and their attendance has improved. Using the BACtrack has put my mind at ease by taking charge of the safety of my employees and company.

I decided to order one of these to test people leaving my house. It works quickly and easily, and every person has appreciated my concern. I have room for overnighters, and although I rarely have anyone drinking at my house, when they do, they can stay, if necessary.
