“I have gotten steady readouts back to back, just make sure you wait about 20 min before using it. The extra mouth pieces are nice along with carry case. I feel the price point is right, just make sure you get them recalibrated on their suggested times and use count. I also am not sure how comparable to police grade these are but I assume these have a little more\less play than police grade so keep that in mind. They do state their discrepancy play in the document with the device. Like I said the readouts have been identical if I wait 20 min and use it back to back just as test if it reads differently. I bought this basically to tell after two beers or three where I am at so I stay around .05\.06 should I need to drive I I have some baseline or understanding. It helps for use with others stating they are "fine" this will show them real quick what level they are at! With the extra mouth pieces you can't go wrong.”

“I have used this approx 50 times over a year, which has given me a great felt sense of how high my BAC is. My guess is usually within 0.01 of the reading. This is different from cheaper units, where I was more often surprised by the reading.
But after a year's use, it was starting to read 10-20% different from a new s80 I bought to compare. And sometimes it would give a reading several times the correct value. So clearly it is time for a calibration.
I learned some tricks: rinsing out the mouth with water will lower the reading by approx 20%. Hyperventilating or just taking deep breaths before use also lowers the reading by approx 20%.
The biggest surprise was how slowly BAC drops while sleeping; I guess the lower metabolism makes the elimination of the alcohol take longer. I sometimes would be able to get a BAC reading after a full night's sleep. Staying awake and walking drops the BAC much quicker.”
“I mainly bought this so I could make a more educated guess at when too much is TOO MUCH. It is also kinda fun when you're just enjoying without any responsibilities. All my friends seem to find it quite amusing that I bought it. I'm like, well, the cost of finding out where you're at through normal channels isn't exactly a good course of action.
