Filmmaking with Edgar Wright Reviews

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Learn a new skill
Some of the earlier lessons weren't terribly informative, but soon Edgar got down to the nitty gritty. He took apart the process of making a film - from ideas, to structure, to casting, to editing - all enriched with practical examples from his own work and that of others. And I appreciated his can-do attitude, showing how he made things happen in his own career, coming from a small town with no connections to the industry.

This is outstanding. Wow. There are elements of film making from doing it on a budget through to bigger studio productions. Edgar really talks to us as though he would if he were sitting down with each and every one of us. This is a great course to watch. You'll learn so much.

As a cinema student, this course helped me to understand better the dynamic of doing a film. And now I am ready to put in proof the lessons.

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Learn a new skill, Other
Although this is not an in-depth course on filmmaking, the advice, stories and insights into the experience and knowledge of this excellent director is most enlightening and entertaining. Almost as entertaining as watching one of his great films.

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Learn a new skill, Achieve career goals, Entertainment
An engaging course, with a lot of pertinent advise from someone who is very much a "self-made" success in the movie industry. Edgar comes across as a warm and helpful personality, who is open and willing to share what is useful about how he got his films made and out there. He takes you through every step of the journey — both to makign your first movies, to becoming an established film maker. It helps to have seen Edgar's main films (Sean of the Dead, Baby Rider etc), since he will often refer to these as examples.

I love Mr. Wright's cinema work, his teaching style is excellent and the information is substantial. As usual BBC production values are world class and the offering of BBC Maestro as a whole is unparalleled.
