The tie down system works great. It held the car cover down under strong winds.

This solution will attach to the cover poorly and hold the cover poorly. In addition, it appears that frequent use will probably scratch the paint. A good solution would secure to the cover better and have material that is between the tie down and the car body to prevent scratching.

My cover kept getting blown off my car, at least partially, until I put on these clamps. I used to have to remove the car cover on windy days to keep it from blowing on the ground. Now my cover stays put. I'm 60-something and managed to install it without help from my husband, even the first time. The white rope looks a little cheap, but it sure works. I would recommend these clamps to anyone to try. They work very well for me and my new little SUV.

My cover is on a Ford F350 pick-up. Live a high wind area when it blows, so don't use all the time, but when I have them seem to be ok so far. I have used one in the front and one on the back, the one on the front came off it seemed to be on pretty good so time will tell I think.

They definitely help keep the cover in heavy winds driven by thunderstorms.
