“This is a very interesting product. I use it with my Sennheiser HD 490 Pro. It allows me to mix on my headphones as an alternative to mixing on speakers, or as a backup safety measure to listen to a mix as a second system. The surround capability is excellent. I listened to a mix on my home Yamaha HS based 5.1 system, on a more professional Neumann based 5.1 system and via VR-MONITOR and in my opinion it was easiest and best to judge on the VR-MONITOR. The closed atmosphere/acoustics of a headphone where one is always centered is superb. I highly recommend checking out VR-MONITOR.”

“the plugin is good in all respects. but there are questions - why are the input modes that are quite pleasing on ProTools unavailable in Nuendo? is this discrimination? why is 4th order ambisonic not supported when 10th order is already widely used, such as in Reaper? but I repeat, if you don't pay attention to these annoying misunderstandings, the plugin is quite good.”
“I find dearVR MONITOR can often be useful for offering an 'alternative environment' for checking the balance of mixes. However, the headphone comensation algorithm seems rather odd and I never use it. I have Reference4Headphones which seems a lot more accurate and in some ways it undermines my trust in the plugin overall. The reality is (no pun intended) that I have made good mixes with and without this product, so, for me it isn't vital but can be helpful. Also, the price-point seems a little high for home users.”
