“I had (rightly) somewhat high expectations for this Saperavi but alas, it was bland, watery, no discernable fragrance and left me high and dry on nothing but being out of pocket for a terrible Australian example of an otherwise lust worthy varietal. Would give it 0 stars if it were possible. Avoid like the plague. A case of bottle design, quirk (produced in Queensland?!?) and obscurity rationalizing the sale an otherwise substandard wine to the generously unsuspecting among us.”
“Brooding dark black fruits and liquorice smoothly integrated. Good finish. Their website says the wine is unfined and unfiltered and rustic. Personally, I thought this was classy stuff and a great alternative to yet-another-shiraz.”
“Bit darker in colour to a neb pinot noir, and silkier but would be similar to that combo of wines. Not quite a shiraz. Medium body, complex developing taste of red cherry, dark chocolate, cherry liquor and subtle dry straw. Recommend allowing it to breath for 2hrs prior to drinking. Delicious.”
