It floats. That is normal.
This is the question we are asked more than any other, so it is the first thing on the page. VetRx is an oil. It will not dissolve in cold water and it will sit on the surface. That is not a faulty bottle and you have not done anything wrong.
The trick is temperature. Use very warm water — not cold, not boiling — and stir it through. Everything below explains how much to use and the different ways poultry keepers use it.
How much do I use?
For a standard adult bird, one teaspoon of VetRx to one cup of very warm water. Stir it through, then offer it.
Scale the amount down for bantams and smaller birds
Warming the bottle itself in a cup of hot water first makes it easier to pour and mix
Mix it fresh rather than making up a large batch in advance
Always leave a supply of plain fresh water available as well

Good husbandry comes first
Keep the coop clean, dry and well ventilated
Separate any bird that is unwell from the rest of the flock
Make sure fresh water is always available

How long does a 59ml bottle last?
A 59ml bottle holds roughly twelve teaspoons. Used at one teaspoon per cup of water, that is around a dozen made-up cups — which for most backyard flocks is a long time, because it is used occasionally rather than daily. Kept sealed, in a cool dark cupboard, it has a long shelf life.
