About DIY Family Films:

DIY Family Films helps busy parents create beautiful home movies with their phones instead of just collecting 1000's of clips they do nothing with. We offer a made-for busy-parents 5-star course and an additional collection of follow-up courses and workshops.

Do you have a never ending camera roll full of cute moments of your kids...that you do nothing with? Do you feel overwhelmed by all the digital clutter and wonder...what am I going to DO with all this?

Time with our kids flies by and we all want to have great video and photo memories to look back on - but constantly collecting clips is NOT the same as capturing memories.

The DIY Family Films Method is a simple, step-by-step approach that teaches parents how to film and edit professional-looking home videos using just their smartphones. No fancy gear, no hours of editing—just quick, easy lessons that fit into real life.

Founded by two busy moms - Tenille and Jocelyn - who have 30 years of experience with video between them, DIY Family Films has over 30,000 students learning how to preserve their favourite memories in a way that feels fun and effortless.

Our goal is help you create keepsakes your family will cherish forever while being on your phone LESS.

Concise, effective and efficient way to learn how to start make home videos today! Prior to taking this course, I had no idea where to even begin capturing and putting a video together. Now I’m approaching capturing moments completely differently and am no longer intimidated by the editing process! Thank you!

I recently took the DIY Family Films course, and it was absolutely fantastic! The course was well-structured, easy to follow, and packed with practical tips that made capturing everyday moments feel effortless and fun. The instructors did a great job breaking down concepts like lighting, composition, and storytelling in a way that was accessible—even for beginners. What I loved most is how the skills and knowledge I gained didn’t just apply to making family films—I’ve been able to use them in every aspect of using my cell phone camera. Whether I’m snapping photos, recording quick videos, or creating more thoughtful keepsake films, I now have a much better eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling. Before this course, I felt intimidated by video editing, but now I feel confident creating beautiful, meaningful films of my family. I highly recommend DIY Family Films to anyone who wants to preserve their memories in a creative and heartfelt way!

In the past, I’ve bought a lot of courses like these for my business, but this course I bought just for me personally. I have learned so many things about taking videos, framing shots and thinking through how and when to record my kids. Instead of spending all of my time, staring at them through my phone I feel more present on trips. Even my husband enjoyed watching the course videos to help him know better how to record me with the kids so I had “proof of mom”.
