“I decided to get the updated FireBoard after my 1st gen finally started to stop working. I like the larger screen vs the original. Having the options to use 1-6 probes is also why I decided to upgrade. I really do like having multiple probes in use and having the option to have a probe for ambient temp. The FireBoard connect fine to wireless, the mobile app and web works great also.”
“I currently switched from ThermoWorks to FireBoard and am happy with the decision. The magnetic base does what it is supposed to do but there is room for improvement. In the current design the FireBoard can come out of the base way to easy and after being exposed to heat for some time, the base can start to deform which makes it have less attachment to the controller. I would love to see either, much taller corners that can wrap around the FireBoard controller or an indent in the controller where a tab from the base can snap into it.”
“A true time/life saver. Using it for our small catering business we can easily shift focus to completing other items on our menu and easily keep an eye on the Fireboard”
“The magnetic base is a must have for me. It keeps the unit from slipping around and it’s affordably priced. The magnet is so strong you can mount it vertically, like on a fridge, without it falling out.”
“I've been using the magnetic base for over a year. It is handy and works well at providing a solid station for the Fireboard. I like that it is angled to provide a good view of the fireboard display.
I had one issue. The plastic material where you place the Fireboard swelled up such that I couldn't put the Fireboard on the base. I made cuts in it such that I could push the plastic down into the hallow space. That fixed the problem for me.”
“The temperature probes are long enough to allow some flexibility in locating the control unit, but the blower cable length is very short. The controller needs to be located right next to the grill which makes the magnetic base useless. Sorry I bought it.”
