“I got decent signal without the antenna, but on cooks where I was taking something inside to rest/cambro I had to decide between my wired probes monitoring the pit and another protein or the Pulse because with the standard range I couldn't do both. I finally caved and snagged the S1G and now I get a fairly strong signal through multiple walls and roughly 80' away and the only decision now is how long do I wait for a thinner diameter Pulse to be developed before I cave and just buy more of the standard Pulse probes to compliment my assortment of wired K probes...”
“Totally my mistake, but be careful installing this antenna. While it appears the antenna is built on a swivel, it is NOT! I tried to swivel it, so it would fit better on my fireboard and ended up pulling the wires out. Will be ordering another with a note to be more careful and probably need to read the instructions better! Total user error. Learn from me!”
“It works as intended. My only gripe is it feels cheap. Its made of plastic and makes cracking sounds anytime it is moved. It doesn't rotate or adjust, but it looks like it should be able to. You just won't find the high quality construction for this antenna that you find on the Fireboard itself. It would easily break if bumped up against, or anything like that.
Also, the drive connection for the blower is to close to the antenna connection on the Fireboard. It leaves almost no room for error. I didn't even think both could be connected at the same time at first.
The price is cheap because this accessory was made cheaply.”
