Coat is in very good condition and has proved itself over the last few days ( Storm Babet ) well worth it

Great jacket. Wind and waterproof. The inner of the outside pocket is broken so lost my phone on the lining...but its a great lightweight trekking coat

The DISTRESSED rating was justified only by a small repair patch on the sleeve done professionally (by the Austrian military?) in the very same fabric so that it is hardly visible. Also, there was a tiny bit of repair stitching at the back, but really one has to look for it in order to see it. So it is nearly as good as grade 1 and certainly very functional, waterproof and windproof (tested it already)

I ended up purchasing two of the M65 jackets as I was so impressed with the Distressed jacket that I upgraded to the 'Grade 1 version. The distressed jacket was absolutely fine with some wear as expected from military surplus but more than up to the job. I went for the shorter length 96-100 I-II which was a roomy fit for a 42"ish chest and suitable for someone a little shorter than my 5'10" but I found it a tad short in the arm. For the extra £15 I would thoroughly recommend going for the Grade 1 which was 5-6 younger than the distressed jacket and appeared to be near new with no visible signs of wear. I also went for the 96-100 III-IV which proved to be longer in the body, coming down to mid thigh. I couldn't fault the service as I asked for a late change of delivery address which proved to be no trouble for them. 5 Stars, and highly recommended.
