“We ordered the Japanese storage bed in Oak, and it cost us approx $2300. It arrived in a timely manner (we are in the US). The wood is heavy and solid. This is where the positives end. The directions for assembling this bed are very poorly written. We recieved two leg pieces, but they were both for the same side of the bed. The pilot holes, throughout, are badly drilled. The included screws are cheap and they strip out easily. Because we have tools and experience building things, we got through the assembly process, by fixing the countersinks and pilot holes, and using better screws. The WORST thing about this experience is that the photos of the bed are not representative of what you actually receive. The storage drawer looks joinered in the photos on the website, but in reality it is put together with big metal brackets that look like they belong on children's furniture. The drawer does not fit, as shown, under the bed frame, but rather has gaps on both sides and on top! There are visible screw holes in the leg pieces and no plugs even, to conceal the screws. On the website everything is photoshopped clean. I'm so disappointed! I really liked the look of this bed, and assumed that for the price it was going to be a lot nicer. I could have bought a handmade bed in western walnut, by a respected local furniture builder, for almost the same money. I wish I could return this, and I'm really shocked about the doctored photos.”

“The instructions are worse than IKEA. The claim that a single human can put this together with a screwdriver is just false—this took two adults and a power drill 3 hours to assemble. The instructions need updating, they call out the use of black screws when only silver screws are provided, they call out specific use of boards labeled ‘middle’ that are not at all labeled, and many boards had pre-drilled holes that were not needed, causing further confusion. We had to remove and re-drill some pieces to fit the headboard mount correctly. This ruined the purchase experience for me and for the price, I’d go for an easier assembly option like Thuma in the future.”
