“They fit well AND the picture does show just a big rectangle...but in reality, you realize it's just a heavy piece of wood... They fit at shin level so you need to be strategic where you place it and, at least for our kids, it seems natural to want to put your foot on there but it's not weight bearing. If your headboard is out of the way of foot traffic and/or against a wall, this floating shelf makes sense. But if people will be walking along the side of the bed (think about getting up to the bathroom), you might skip this. I wish they were softly curved, at the very least, to cut down on chances of injury.”
