“I've used this strop twice. The material it's made from is hard, harder than basswood and almost like a resin. In my experience it's ment to remove that last little bit of bur coming off a very high grit finishing stone to get that crisp fine edge without any roll over that happens from leather or soft wood. It's not like wood in that you can get a bunch of shops out of 1 application of diamond compound,you apply diamond spray and get one stops worth of use out of it. Because it's hard it loads up alot, just load it, use it, then wipe off for next time. Also don't need alot of diamond spray either because it doesn't soak in, about a 1/4 of what you'd use on wood or leather. It's a specialty strop for the edge nerds, definitely recommend.”
