“Ive always enjoyed sharpening on japanese waterstones far more than diamond plates. But for higher carbide steels like k390 or 15v the waterstones just seem to burnish more than actually shape the apex. These venev stones feel like a happy middle ground between plates and waterstones, and its nice being able to use one set of stones no matter what steel im sharpening.”
