Garbage stone. It's nowhere near its 13000 grit rating. I have a 13,000 grit Sigma Power "Select II" stone. The stone felt very rough brand new for a 13k stone, but I thought maybe it was just the result of factory lapping. So, I proceeded to lap the Sigma with a 12k Naniwa nagura stone to smooth it out, but it made almost no difference to the 13k Sigma Power's rough surface texture. The stone just feels too rough for a 13k stone. I then tested the Sigma Power Select II 13k stone on a stainless steel knife to see the scratch pattern. It produced a rough scratch pattern no better than that produced by my Suehiro Cerax 3000 grit stone. For comparison, I also have a Shapton 12k stone and the Shapton 12k stone produced a near-mirror finish. In summary, the Sigma Power Select II 13k stone is nowhere near its advertised 13,000 grit rating. It's more like a 3k to 5k rating.
