“This product is expensive, especially considering the much cheaper labor in Russia where this product was produced. Nevertheless, it's a very well-designed and well-made product. The machining is precise and the surface finish is beautiful. It works very well. I chose the aluminum version over the polyacetal (Delrin) plastic version because I have doubts about the strength and longevity of the plastic threads even though polyacetal (Delrin) offers much better lubricity than aluminum. The plastic version is actually priced higher than the aircraft aluminum version, which doesn't make sense because aluminum machining is more difficult and aluminum is more expensive. The price differential is due to marketing and supply and demand, I guess. The only minor complaint I have is the rack and pinion movement is not completely silky smooth. There are noticeable bumps as it glides up and down the rack and pinion. The bumps are caused by the teeth of the rack and pinion. The bumps could be why the angle adjustment spec is 0.1 degrees instead of 0.05 degrees as found on the previous version of the height adjuster.”
