“This sauce was my introduction to the show. I was at a bar having dinner and asked for some hot sauce. The bar tender handed me the bottle of the last dab and he and the other guy at the bar looked at me incredulously when I started pouring it all over my food, their eyes got wide as I proceeded to polish off my plate. The bartender admitted he was trying to punk me, and said he had never seen anyone eat that sauce before. I told him I thought that it was pretty spicy but I didn't think that it was ridiculous. I still didn't know it had anything to do with the show, but when I was telling my family about the sauce and that the bartender thought it would get me they said "was it called 'the last dab'?". And I said "how did you know?" Then they told me about the show, pretty funny.”

“I really wanted to like this version of the last dab. It's definitely not as hot as they claim and not worth the price. I wasn't the biggest fan of the taste either.”

Hi Bryan, Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry that you didn't love the sauce. I'll pass that along to the team so they can take it into account for future. The sauce is definitely not as mouth-burn hot as extract-based sauces like Da Bomb. We only do natural pepper heat, and the extract-based sauces definitely have more of a mouth burn while natural peppers can have varied styles of heat. Pepper X are way more delayed and can hit much later. So sometimes it feels more like a full body hot sauce high, or hits you in the stomach (the Carolina Reaper is infamous for making folks keel over with stomach cramps). The number one reason for people to think this is not hot is because they treat it like an extract sauce and use too little. You're meant to use about 1 tablespoon per serving, so enough to well coat a wing, plus a dab on top. Definitely not a toothpick type deal. Oh! Also, give it a healthy shake before using it. “My friend bought us a bottle to try, honestly cant believe how tasty it is!! I put it on everything!! Highly recommend mixing it with your salsa! (Love it on salad with french or italian dressing too) Not for the faint of heart though”

“This hot sauce was not hot. I was extremely disappointed. I bought the season 25 hot sauce set as a gift for my girlfriend for Christmas specifically because it came with this sauce and we’ve been wanting to do the challenge for a long time. My girlfriend is a total chilly head, unlike me who can’t handle heat. I bought this hot sauce in hopes that pepper x would finally be “actually hot” for her, but to both of our surprises it wasn’t hot. I was extremely disappointed having just spent $120 on the whole thing and having just crushed the experience that we had both been looking forward to for quite some time now. She noted that the atomic flavor from her favorite wing shop was hotter. I am writing this after recently discovering the controversy around the hotness of the sauce and to provide legitimacy to these claims. I also hope this serves as a cautionary tale to anyone trying to decide if this is worthwhile and/or wanting to give this as a gift. The sauce itself was and is shamefully not spicy and was overshadowed by other sauces in the set specifically Da Bomb, and Arbol Scorpion. There were other things wrong with my buying experience but this sauce was at the top. There’s something fishy going on, if not only misleading marketing about this sauce and pepper x. I would not go for this sauce if you’re looking for spicy. I have eaten habaneros from the grocery store that were spicier.”
