“The sauce is too much like a mash and seems like an unfinished canvas, for starters. I'd like to see them make an actual sauce with this like they did Pepper-X. The pepper taste itself is ok, not great. It's reminiscent of burnt cayenne to me. The heat for me was about a 6/10 whereas a sauce like Eye of the Scorpion was closer to an 8/10. Bottom line, it's good to throw in a burrito to kick up your taco sauce, a chili, chowder, burgers, or anything where you can use it as an additive. As far as dipping goes though, it's an acquired taste.”

“First off, this sauce was fun to try with friends! The flavor isn't as good, but the heat is definitely there. You get straight heat that doesn't build up, but rather punches you in the face. A little goes a long way when it comes to Apollo. Wife and I used it in chili and we over did it. She couldn't eat it, but I was able to push through lol. I would recommend Last Dab Redux over Apollo when it comes to flavor, but the heat is pretty high up there.”

“I rarely if ever have a sauce that really makes me feel the burn. With the Apollo sauce, my mouth was fine, but my throat was on fire for a good half hour. I love the flavor. You get a smokey, Earthy essence with the sauce that really goes well with meats, or just to enjoy a spoonful. I dislike sauces that are light on flavor, just to go massive on heat. I also generally dislike sauces with a heavy vinegar base as I feel the vinegar flavor often overwhelms the peppers, and I get a massive taste of sour salt in my mouth (here's looking at you Tabasco). In this sauce, they found a great balance, using just enough vinegar to carry the peppers and keep it in a liquid form, but not so much that the vinegar is all you taste. This sauce, being mostly Apollo pepper in one form or another, is VERY tasty. My go-to for a long time has been the Hi-Spice Ho-Brah! sauce (that apple-cider vinegar really kicks the flavor up a notch), but I think this may have a chance at unseating that as my favorite actual HOT sauce.”

“I bought the Apollo and the XXX sauces for my husband for Valentine’s Day. We’ve been watching the show forever and my husband has always been curious how spicy these sauces were, and he wasn’t disappointed. He loves spicy peppers and makes every meal insanely spicy, even salads. He actually has a hard time finding sauces and raw peppers that are spicy enough for him. According to him, it definitely is up there in heat level and it has “Super Hot Pepper flavor” and is, at the same time, really well spiced). He adds this sauce to EVERYTHING.”
