Maris Peer Seed Potatoes - 2KG Second Early Seed Potatoes | JBA Reviews

4.5 Rating 68 Reviews
Read Jamieson Brothers Reviews

Maris PeerMaris Peer seed potatoes are remarkable maincrop varieties, known for their aesthetic haulms and unique scented flowers. The tubers, oval and white-skinned, encase firm, creamy flesh. Notably resilient to skin diseases, these potatoes are perfect for second cropping, usually ready for Christmas harvest. Maturation typically takes 15-22 weeks, with a mid to late April sowing in the ground yielding larger sizes.  SOIL PREPARATION: Choose a place in the garden which has not been used to grow garlic, onions, shallots or leeks for at least two years. The soil should be open, well drained and not have been manured for at least one year. PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Each potato should be 35cm from the next, with rows spaced 70cm apart. Always make sure the eyes are facing upwards. Drills should be 15cm deep. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Water well in dry spells. HARVESTING INSTRUCTIONS: Harvest June-July. Dig up mature potatoes and store them in a cool, dry and dark location. Potatoes can be stored for several months. Tip: when harvesting, remove all foliage and small potatoes from the soil and discard, to avoid diseases on next year’s crop.   Plant as soon as possible after purchase. Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place until planting. Keep free from frost. Grown from cultivated stock.

These are NOT potatoes for xmas. The potatoes that arrived were NOT for Xmas they were spring planting. I did plant them and nothing has happened. Dug one up and they are showing very small potatoes on the seed one and NO green shoots WOULD NOT recommend them under any circumstances. It is too late to ask for a refund and feel I have been sold an item that was not fit for purpose.
