Parabolic Spring Kit MGB GT V8 C/B with Uprated Polyurethane Bushes Reviews

5 Rating 1 Reviews
Read MGOC Spares Reviews

When travelling over small bumps in the road, the force required to flex a conventional multi-leaf spring is high, so the spring remains rigid and the bump shock is transmitted inside the car. A parabolic spring has a taper rolled into it, thickest in the centre tapering proportionately to the end offering precise stress distribution throughout its length. Hence the ride comfort is greatly improved combined with enhanced handling from increased tyre to road contact. Suitable for use on factory standard and mild tuned MGBs, Cs & V8s, parabolic springs should be fitted in conjunction with telescopic rear dampers. Rubber to chrome bumper lowering kits available separately. Supplied with FREE fitting kit; comprising U-Bolts, fixings and poly-urethane spring pads and bushes.

Really impressed by these springs in conjunction with a Gaz damper kit - they have absolutely transformed the ride of my MGB GT V8, whilst not affecting the handling adversely. The suspension just feels so much more compliant. One other thing I was experiencing which has been cured is mild torque reaction on accelerating and lifting off, even though the springs and dampers had been replaced by the PO and had probably only had about 5,000 miles on them. It may be that the polyurethane bushes have a role to play in this but whatever the cause the result is another bonus.
