She doesn't seem to be growing like the others. She isn't feathering as much either. I'm so worried to loose her. She does eat, drink and run around so fingers crossed.

Stacey, we are sorry to hear that your little black silkie was not thriving for you when you received her! Always let us know any time if you are worried about a chick - we are available by phone, chat or email - and we will help you with any guidance we can to hopefully help a weak chick come around. We pray she turned a corner for you and is doing well now! Please let us know if you can! My Pet Chicken cares about our babies even after they leave the hatchery.

Our silkie hen, "Otto," is the sweetest and friendliest of our birds. She runs up to greet us and seems to like being pet and held (in exchange for treats). She is a regular layer (5 eggs/week) to our surprise, as we considered her more of an ornamental bird. She is brave for a small chicken and runs around in the rain, resulting in crazy, spiky feathers. We've had such a good experience that we're planning to raise more Silkies this spring.

I ordered 2 black silkies in my order of 5 chicks. One did have issues with pasty butt the first week, but I treated and both are now healthy 8 week old pullets and are so darn cute!! They are definitely the most laid back of all my flock and the only ones who tolerate being held.

Originally got my chicks in November 2020. I had a male and female, both with beautiful plumage. Very fluffy but not to the point where they can't see. My rooster did end up having a single comb, very friendly though. The two silkies ended up having two chicks together (another male and female), both walnut combed. The male chick did end up being short a toe and born with wry tail, although despite his flawed appearance he is the sweetest rooster I've EVER had. Both females were textbook silkies. Would definitely recommend these wonderful birds to anyone looking to add pet silkies to their flock.

I have to say I was skeptical about ordering chicks through the mail, but I finally I decided to give it a try. Chicks arrived on time and all looked healthy, a little stressed, but who can blame them. They were packed well and I was very happy when I picked them up. However, within about 6 hours of bringing them home and placing them in their brooder half had died. I was devastated. I contacted customer service and they were very helpful, offered tips and advice, and refuded my money and prorated shipping on the chicks that passed. I was very pleased with their customer service and my remaining chicks are happy and healthy.
