Baby Chicks: Black Silkie Bantam Female Reviews

4.6 Rating 34 Reviews
We received 11 healthy, one day old chicks in early September. Three of which are adorable little silkies. We have black, blue & white. They are all just beautiful and seem to be very high quality! They are so fun to watch and have friendly dispositions. I couldn’t be happier. We did dna testing and all our chicks were sexed correctly. To top it off, I can’t say enough about the excellent customer service I’ve received from the very knowledgeable representatives! We will definitely be using MPC for any future orders!

Chick arrived not doing too well. This isn’t my first go around with chicks, so I had everything on hand to help revive. She continued to decline throughout the week and just seemed less sturdy than the others and struggled to eat and drink, even with vitamins and lots of TLC. She died on the fifth day. All other chicks, including the other silkie are thriving.

So I ordered 3 different colored Silkie and Raven was a straight run but ended up a few min ago she started crowing with the other boys I got on the property! I was so hoping it was a she and it‚Äôs a Mr. Raven now‚Äç♀ But love the little fluff balls! They run so funny with those feathered feet! Plus my black Raven is just crested which I‚Äôm happy with! Healthy and forages great as well! All silkies arrived healthy back in spring and is doing great!!

Our black silkie, Cookie, started off fierce - standing her ground, but quickly mellowed to be our sweetest girl. She loves to be held and makes the cutest sounds. We have four silkies out of our 10 girls.

Very tiny sweet guys, ordered 2 males but no puff on top only like a scraggly Mohawk and 1 male has a single comb and the other has a walnut...both bearded though lol and bald on top but they are loved

My husband and I have 4 silkies now all adults from MPC and ordered 6 more from MPC for late August delivery 2020 for different colors. We just love these little birds stand up for themselves in mixed flock of some big birds we have. They do go broody want to hatch out any eggs left behind. They don't bat a eye fearless run right under the big birds little road runners and use big birds as their blankets in winter, like a chick is so funny to see go under big birds wings. Big birds don't seem to mind them, I see 0 fighting go on. They lay a steady batch of small light cream eggs. Really enjoy these little characters first out when the door opens to go out in morning into their big fenced in yard so fun to watch run.

Miss Deluxe is already an athletic puffball of sass. She’s bright, curious, the first in her flock to learn to smash dried mealworms against the ground with her beak in order to eat them. She does this with great abandon, sending fragments flying, to the delight of her “sisters” who are only too happy to let her do the heavy lifting. She looks a little like a dust bunny come peevishly to life, and while she’s the smallest in her flock, when she’s wound up, she’s got a peep that reverberates like a metal chair scraping against a tile floor. She’s supersonic and often indignant, but then the moment passes and she’s back to staring at me quizzically, sizing up my head. She almost certainly won’t be the leader, but she won’t be anybody’s doormat either. She’s an adorable minor menace, and she seems to have no idea just how charming she is, which makes her even more charming. I’m smitten with her.
