“I am so excited to hatch these special show quality silkie eggs. Unfortunately one egg arrived with a pretty obvious crack in it. I repaired the egg with candle was from a white tapered candle. I have the eggs in my Brinsea 28 ex incubator. I am only on day 6, so I will have to update the review in 15 to 16 days to report if any or all of the eggs hatch. I’m really hoping a few or all of the eggs will hatch, however the cracked egg does have me concerned, but I’m hoping for the best. I’m documenting my hatching egg journey on my Instagram @emmamadeline if anyone wants to follow along or if you have any tips for me. I have the temperature set at 99.5 F and the humidity is set at 45%. I did not turn the eggs for the first 3 days. At the beginning of day 4 I turned on the turner. We are terribly sorry that you had such a disappointing hatching experience with your eggs. As outlined in the Incubation Guide, on the My Pet Chicken website, we can never promise hatch results, as there are so many factors that can affect hatch rate. “After 7 days in the incubator there is only 1 viable egg! Very disappointed. I thought I would get at least 3. A lot of money just for 1 egg that’s if it hatches.”
“Eggs arrived in good condition and were well packed. We recieved 7 eggs rather than 6. After 10 days we candled: two eggs were not fertile and had zero development, one was fertile and had begun to develop, but had a blood line. We still have 4 eggs that seem to be developing nicely, fingers crossed!”

“I was an absolute beginner when I ordered 6 Silkie eggs from My Pet Chicken in the spring of 2021. They sent a 7th bonus one and 4 of the 7 hatched! 2 roosters and 2 hens. Now just this month in Jan 2022 I was able to hatch 4 more Silkies from the eggs my original Silkies laid. So much fun! THANK YOU My Pet Chicken for such great pets!”
“I never incubated before so ordered 6 eggs expecting to hopefully get 4 to hatch. From what I‚Äôve read so many were only getting 50-60% to hatch. Being new I didn‚Äôt want to get my hopes up. I received 7 eggs, followed the instructions and 6 of the 7 hatched! When I candled them, 1 was not fertilized, so IMHO LOL, it‚Äôs 100% hatch rate!! And even better we got 6 distinctly different colors!

“Well, I'd read the reviews but though I'd give it a try anyway. I received 7 eggs for the order of 6, which was super nice. I followed the directions as best as possible. I let them sit and settle in the incubator 24 hours before adding the rotation function. Humidity levels and heat were on target. Upon candling at a week and a half I discovered one was cracked. After 21 days only one of 7 hatched. At day 25 I pulled the plug on the rest.”
